Just Wondering, is the current gen BMW 7-Series avaliable in a Sport Trim?
This is because a friend of my girl says he drives a 2012 BMW 740i Sport. Which is I doubt is that even exist?

I've never heard of an actual 740is in the new gen. Since they only offer it in automatic (I believe) could he be talking about a sport shift option or something? It seems completely contradictory to buy something like a 740 and want a sports version.

There is the 740i M Sport, maybe they just forgot the 'M'...

Well, that's what i'm thinking as well.
Maybe he only want to do some speeding with style. That's my reason to get a S600 actually.

I have yet to find a car that can't speed, but there are definitely cars without style.

M Sport..
So what's the difference between the standard 740i with the M Sport, other than badges.

Well, the 7-Series and S-Class designed for high-speed autobahn cruising eh?
I always think those 2 and Audi A8 is some kind of Elegant Sleeper.or something. They're heavy, designed for.comfort, they're big, but they still able to outperform some.faux sportcar like Porsche Boxster or Cayman.

M Sport. Slightly tweaked interior and exterior M parts, rims, what not.
Not a true M.

Yup. I'd say an M7 would be very well received, but I think the buyers in that crowd would rather pony up for an Alpina B7 at that point.
M Sport is simply an appearance package (with flappy paddles). At lease the current 335i offers an upgraded suspension along with M Sport package.

"An available M Sport package brings an aerodynamic kit with aggressive front and rear bumpers, 19-inch wheels, Shadowline exterior trim, anthracite headliner and an M Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters."
...apparently for some extra cash, the wheels can be upgraded to a different design in 20" diameter, and the headliner can be upgraded to either upholstery color or Alcantara anthracite.
Aside from that, the quote above pretty much sums it up.
