Kinja'd!!!

Parent HVAC company closed the propane delivery shop, so now Horse Cents sits in a shipping container in an undisclosed location...because that doesn't sound shady.

Also, finally got the title transferred so she's actually mine!

Yup, that one is sitting a few houses away from where I live, since I rented out their garage.

hahaha

Seriously though thats a sweet looking stang, I'm guessing its a boss 302? I'd love to pick up a vintage muscle car one day, one of my neighbors has a restored 72 or 73 red mach 1 in his garage and it hasn't moved as long as I've been alive (21). He restored the car for his wife years ago and she was afraid to drive it, so it has sat under a pile of boxes for EVER. I really want to go knock on the door and ask him what it'd take to sell the car.

The VIN says it was a regular sportsroof(fastback) 302, but since it was a drag car, the shock towers were modified to fit a big block. But I just but a vintage 302 in it; just working on getting the radiator and auto trans put in.

Very cool, so black is DD? I just checked out some of your previous posts on the blue 70, are you planning on keeping it a drag(?) car?

So is Horse Cents a gasser or is it sitting so high because no motor?

1) Nope, the '66 hasn't been on the road in some time, still needs a lot of details. The biggest challenge currently is getting paint done (one of those things you can't work on piecemeal like we have been :/ ) and getting the choke adjusted so it doesn't keep dying. When those two are done, it's road ready. Except it's still only a two barrel 289 with single exhaust mated to the worst 3 speed Ford ever made. The current plan is to get it road worthy, brush up on manual until the clutch is fried; then instead of swapping the clutch, just swap the whole trans out for a Borg-Warner T-10 that's ready to go in. Then keep driving until the engine starts going (the block is the original, getting on 50 years old now, so it'll go bad) and swap it out for a carbed '87 roller block that is ready to go in.

2) Nope, cutting out the roll cage in October if everything goes to plan, and I have assembled the entire interior (almost, just need to buy headliner) and heating apparatus ready to install the moment I have garage space my own house.

Funny story, found a guy in Valparaiso turning a regular one into a drag car, so we just started swapping parts; so much effort, we should have just swapped cars XD

It came with two motors on the side when I bought it, but nothing inside. I just got another vintage 302 mounted in it about 3 weeks ago (this picture is a few months old >_> ). Just searched gasser Mustangs, and they look a bit off though. Long hood, short deck isn't a great look for gassers in my opinion :/ A '55 Chevy though....mmmmmmm... gasser goodness

Oh my fuck, I'd make love to the 2 lane blacktop car if that makes any sense at all (and I'm not that big on american cars) That said, I lust looked over the other Horse Cents posts and I wish you luck, man. cool car, great condition (i just hope you keep the original paint!)

Dang, that is a mean GM!

Thanks! I'm trying as much as I can to save the paint, but it may need some body work :/

ugh. I know the feeling my Bimmer (a '73 2002) has exactly one metric shit-ton of rust (lets call it the rock-salt weight lightening mod) and although I want to keep as much original sheet metal as possible, It's way cheaper and easier to replace whole panels.

Luckily, I actually enjoy going to town with body filler and fiberglass, so the hope is to not have to get new metal.

Nice car! I always wanted a smaller BMW, but I just sold my old daily driver ('95 740iL) last week because I didn't want it beat up while at college. One day, I'll get another E38/E39. Not bad in the states if you can fix 'em yourself.

Traditionally I've been a Saab guy, having owned an '93 900s 5 speed, a '95 900 turbo, and currently owning a '02 Viggen, but my grandma is from Munich, so I always figured it was my duty to own a Bimmer (and what better Bimmer than a small, boxy, round-tail light 2 door sedan?) But the 2k2 is probably my favorite car I've ever owned, the Viggen being a close 2nd.

Ah, okay. When I bought my 67 coupe my choke/carb/timing/vacuum and valves were all really out of tune, and somehow it ran okay until this past year when I started getting on it and the distributor broke. I've got it running pretty good at the moment, even though it's got pretty bad carb and intake gasket leaks. Your plan sounds pretty similar to mine. My motor was rebuilt in the late 90's and has probably less than 10-12 thousand miles on it and I've got some minor bolt on's and a nice exhaust (except my mufflers which are weak), so engine stuff is way in the future for me.

I gotta ask why you're going with a 4 speed though, if you're going from an auto to manual, why don't you get a t-5 5 speed? I just swapped my car the rest of the way from 4 to 5 lug. 8 inch rear, currie LSD and 3.55s plus CSRP discs up front. Part of me feels like I should fix the very vague steering before I start accumulating parts for the 5 speed though.

Funny about your twin in Valparaiso, Indiana or Chile?
