Price is probably 1000 over what he was quoted for what it was worth in scrap metal. Probably figured that was the price for having someone come take it away for him instead of doing it himself.

Authentic Model A and T bits can get pretty spendy. If you wanted to make something with a period correct drive train the price isn't too bad.
