It's My boss's Nissan GT-T R34. GT-T, because it's a rear wheel drive. Underneath that body, there's a tuned RB26DET producing 520hp. The car cost him 80k to import, and 10k to built. There's 5k miles on the odo. He's seliing it because he want to buy a R35.
And he's offering that for me for 60k. And ya, it's a monster. But I think 60k is too much.
How about you?

5000 miles?!?!
That's insane. What'd he build it and stick it in a trophy case?? I'm anything but an expert here, but judging by the numbers you gave us, I don't think 60k is entirely unreasonable. Maybe drop him down a couple grand for that meh front bumper.
Is this in the States?

80k to import, and 10 to built.
Yep. That sounds like a skyline. 60k (I assume USD?) actually isn't bad for that, considering that a stock GT-R costs about that much, and it's still faster than anything for that price. But for 60k you could probably build pretty much anything to equivalent specs, it just wouldn't be as beautiful.
The GT-Ts are becoming quite popular around the world as the GT-R population dwindles, and an increased interest in Skyline drifting (thanks to Blitz especially) rises.

For a GT-T that is WAY too much. Although from your description this is far from stock but that doesn't warrant a 60K price tag. Importing a car is never cheap but I am surprised it cost him 80k. Where did he ship it in from? You can get decent examples from our charming glacial gypsys up north (Canadians) and it would be way cheaper. If it was a GT-R I would say hell yes and take my money but not for a GT-T. Why would he want a 35 over that? The 35 is a good car but I would drop it like a bad habit if I could get a hold of one of these.

Yep, usd. Or 660 Million Rupiah if you would like to know the Indonesian Price.
Hmm
For 60k maybe I'll back to my plan of importing Crown Vic, and still have some cash for maybe an R32.

Well, he imports the car when it was new.
It's in Indonesia, he get that straight from his friend in japan.
Well, he said that he wants to try the R35. Maybe he just bored with R34.

How does one get a Crown Vic over there? They literally litter the streets around here, they're so common. I can't imagine importation is that difficult, it's probably more difficult getting the thing there.
As for modifying, all RB26DETT engines (R32-R34) were designed to output about 450-500HP factory. They then put a highly restrictive boost control, intake, and exhaust on the production ones. So getting that 500HP won't cost a dime, and the car can handle it, unlike pretty much anything else.

Well, he build that and take it to some car contest, drag racing, dyno attraction, and some drift events.
No, it's in my country, indonesia.

I know how inflated the market is over there, China if I remember correctly? Probably a fine price for that. I am so not into those cars, but I think it is market correct

seriusly that much i can get a skyline in Germany for 5 grand, its not tuned but i would never imagine its worth 55 grand more, ofcourse since its US and things are alot different i could be a good price, if it was the new gtr then the price would be good

Well, it's only got 1 turbo (DET). Not DETT.
In here it's possible to import anything, as long as you pay the luxury tax.
I never saw a crown vic yet, but there's plenty of Chevrolet caprice over here.

Indonesia, not china.
And I kinda think too much. 35-40k would be reasonable.

Considering a lot of people would kill to get a Skyline, I'd go for it. See if you can talk him down to $50K, though.

Ah sorry, yeah I dont know much about the car market there!

I feel like the Japanese would say the same thing about the skyline when they hear we are importing them to the UK. "Skyline? Those things are literally littering the streets over here"

You're right. It hasn't happened recently, but a few months back a bunch of Oppo-ites would go onto goo net and find amazing JDM cars for dirt-cheap. R32's go for under the equivalent of 10,000 USD.

Are you sure it's got an "RB26DET" and not and RB26DETT or RB25DET? The original engine in the GT-T was the 2.5 liter single turbo RB25DET (which translates to RB series 2.5 liter DOHC Fuel Injection Turbo) while the GT-R came with the RB26DETT (RB series 2.6 liter DOHC Fuel Injection Twin Turbo, starting to see the pattern?). The RB25DET can be tuned to 520 horsepower just as well as the RB26DETT, and I guess you could call a single turbo RB26DETT an "RB26DET", but it just strikes me as a bit odd.
Still, I guess it's a nice price, although you can get a GT-R for that money here in Sweden.

Your boss built that car with what he should have been paying you!... :)
![]() 09/03/2013 at 11:27 |

No, of course not. :D
I'm very well paid in my job so far. And because he love to talk about cars with me, sometimes he give me some 100-500US$ as "money for fuel" .
![]() 09/03/2013 at 11:29 |

Well, he said RB26DET, his own version of RB25DET with 100cc extra ;)

Then his lovely ferrari will gone :(
Yes, he dd a 612 Scaglietti. Altough soon or later he'll sell that.

Ah ok.
At least he did use it then.
Does he build up all his cars like this?? o_O
![]() 09/03/2013 at 14:25 |

Mmm
No.
I think he only build this R34.
The rest of his car is mostly stock.

Take those ricer body panels off see if he will take less. Looks way better stock anyway.

Crackpipe. ITs cool here, its nothing special outside of the US market.
