Taking German while majoring in Engineering is a great idea...

I was thinking about taking Japanese. . . I am assuming that is a bad idea as well?

Also what field of engineering are you going into? I am doing Mechanical!

German wasn't as hard (for me at least) as Differential Equations or Thermal & Fluids engineering.

You are probably better off taking Greek to learn all the fucking symbols.

I took Japanese while being a CS major (similar amount of work/difficulty as eng) and just taking a language on top of a hard major is not a great idea. This is mostly due to it being really time consuming once you get past the first year or so. I did it because my school required 2 years of a foreign language for the college my major was part of. Eng had their own and didn't have that req.

It's more so the amount of time it takes up.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I did exactly that. No, actually, I can confirm I *did* do that.

Also, "Weenie!" *points and laughs*

I did way better in German than I did in thermo. And actually used the German a lot when I started traveling overseas...it absolutely STUNNED the German engineers I'd visits. They'd be muttering to themselves across the table and before they could come to me in English I'd answer their question. Completely freaked out a couple of them...
