Anyone ever driven an Isuzu Impulse? They're front engined, rear wheel drive. interesting looking cars apparently. I haven't seen much of them, I just saw one pop up when I looked up Lotus on craigslist - the body was designed by the original designer of the Lotus Esprit and the DeLorean. Interesting to anyone else?
Here's one (really cheap!) that caught my eye

the body was designed by the original designer of the Lotus Esprit and the DeLorean.
So was the Mk.1 VW Golf/Rabbit, Lancia Delta, BMW M1, Subaru SVX, and the Hyundai Pony, among many others .

I think they're really cool and this one is definitely a NP! Something that usually works in determining if they are trying to unload a bad car, hence a low price, is asking if you can bring it to a mechanic. It's usually not a bad idea to get it up on a lift anyways. However, I digress: the car is rear wheel drive, good looking, cheap, and somewhat fast while having a third pedal and good handling. I say go for it.

Most of those make sense actually. I never thought about it. He certainly has a style...
EDIT: So he is solely responsible for the worst design of a side window...twice.... The DeLorean and the SVX have awful windows.

First car I had in Tokyo Extreme Racer 3. I offer no reasonable advice, obviously, but it does seem nice, and the odds of seeing another one in the parking lot remain low.

It was my first and second cars. Turbo rwd 5spd and I think an lsd but not sure. Heres what I know. I loved the turbo car but had a na after I wrecked the turbo. Turbo was quick, handled really well and was fun to drive. Also pretty comfortable. They are really rare in that generation as well and the turbo even more so. Dunno about parts availability but im pretty sure they aren't too hard to find. It would be a great track day fun car. Or even a dd. I actually look for them on Craigslist every once in a while but rarely see any. 1200 for the turbo that's a great deal

He didn't design the windows. Due to his (awesome) shaping of the greenhouse, these mini windows were necessary in order for the windows to open at all. It's the shape of the glass and/or the door that won't allow the window to slide into the door. Although not by him, the Countach is another example.

Looks like a really nice price!
Hmm, if only I had room right now for another car, I would be all over this.

Why are they awful? They both serve a function.

And can't forget the McLaren F1 *swoons* that was my poster car as a child.

I forgot about the F1. For shame.

The generation after came in turbocharged AWD form before turbocharged AWD cars were cool. I used to really want one, but like the turbocharged AWD Mazda 323, they were so rare that none ever came up for sale.

I love how it looks, but I'm really concerned about parts availability for a marque like Isuzu...
Isuzu was owned by GM at the time though so in my book a modern GM turbo 4 cyl swap would be alright for the sake of more power, economy and parts availability. IIRC it's got a solid rear axle too so you could source that from something GM as well.

Neat cars those.
I wonder if it's one of the later cars with handling tuned by Lotus.
