I went on an hour long ride to Harper's Ferry in WV this afternoon. There are few things that make me feel as alive as riding through the mountains beside a river with friends.

That, my good man, made me laugh out loud more than I have in a LONG time. Thank you.

It was a great day for a ride in the NW as well, so I decided to go out an fix my dragging brakes. Some grease and a spacer washer that was mysteriously absent later I decided to take a quick ride up through the woods :)
...where I discovered that one of my headers is cracked and leaking exhaust :(
The joys of owning a 31 year old machine.

And what 31 year old machine would that be?

1982 Yamaha XV750
Pretty clean overall, but not without its share of maladies.

Wow, that almost looks like a Norton (about as good of a compliment as I can give for a bike)
Its a great engine (besides the awful starters), loud and throaty through some good pipes. Mine actually sounds a bit like a NASCAR (or any racey american V8) engine when I explore the upper regions of the rev range. And plenty of low end torque so I don't wake the dead while riding around town.

CaWhere was your starting point, the DC area? Rt 9 from Charles Town to Berkley Springs is a pretty nice ride, too.
A Charles Town overnight stay - 2010 One of these things is also not like the other..

We started up in Mount Airy and took back roads that followed rt. 70 and 340 all the way there.
