I'm home on business. For those of you that have travelled and been here, you already know that there are either some cars here that aren't in the US or are marketed differently. Didn't have time to take too many pics but here is a synopsis.

In Jamaica, Toyota RULES. It is IMPOSSIBLE to go a FOOT and not see a Corolla of some sort unless you close your eyes. There are several Corolla versions and trim levels, station wagons used primarily as taxis; and that's just the Corolla line... The Toyota Prado (Land Cruiser) is also very popular (DIESEL), the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (bigger than a Nissan Cube but not by much, for comparison Then Nissan follows with Honda, Mazda, Kia and Hyundai close behind. The Nissan Tiida is the Versa in the US. There is the Honda Stream which I WISH was in the US; the Mazda Premacy which is the Mazda5 is also popular here..

Audis, BMW, Jaguars (both right and left-hand drive) are fairly common as well. American cars are not as popular, but there are Explorers and F150's running around and the odd Chevy. I only saw TWO old English cars (both MK1 Escorts) during my entire stay.

On a final note, if ANY automotive manufacturer wants to do REAL suspension and tire testing, they should come to Jamaica! I'll have a few pics when I get back.

Here's a prototype of a car that Jamaican company Serv-Wel wanted to produce, the Serv-Wel Malibu.

What?
Noah is huge, about a size of Odyssey if I remember.

Also Jamaica still had the stream?
Now that's awesome!

But the first thing pop up in my mind about jamaica is, of course..

Bob Marley!

Maybe they had a bigger version , but the ones I'm seeing is barely larger than a Mazda5. A little taller maybe but a narrower track. The Stream is really cool. And there's a performance (SI??) version as well.

Yeah.. there have been a couple tries at producing a car here... they need more infrastructure to do it along with training (on both sides) LOL

If that so..

Jamaica seems not really different with Indonesia then.

Road sucks, people drive toyotas, and honda is making cool minivans (Stream and Odyssey).

Maybe I'll visit Jamaica one day.
