I was a little skeptical at first, but it's grown on me massively. I also love that pinstripes seem to be making a return. They absolutely transform the look of it.
Given that I only really like 2 or 3 modern BMWs, I'd say that's good going.

Definitely an improvement, and I say that as someone who is disinterested in BMW.

I'd say 'disinterested' is how I view BMW too. They make some great cars, and I like a lot of the classic ones, but as a whole they don't grab my attention.
I would love a Bavaria though.

I can't think of a single BMW I want to own, actually. They're just one of those German marques that EVERYONE seems to want, and I just don't find them any special. I guess part of the reason for this is because newer BMWs are so common and beige where I live, while the older ones are everywhere at car meets (often with young asshats behind the wheel). Other than that, I guess it's also because the whole luxury sports car thing doesn't appeal to me.
Exhibit A for asshat BMW tuners would be a friend of mine's E36 coupe-driving brother who knows nothing about cars other than BMWs. When I got my Celica GT-Four he called it a "fake Supra" to my friend, because he apparently doesn't know the difference between a Celica GT-Four and an Mk II Celica Supra (not to mention the idiocy of calling any Supra that isn't an Mk IV a "fake Supra").

"They're just one of those German marques that EVERYONE seems to want"
This. It's the sole reason I don't want a classic 911, and also the reason I don't want an E30 or a host of other BMWs.
I admire them as excellent cars. but I don't actually want one.
