Yesterday I was driving to to the store and as I was turning into the lot a White Diamond CTS-V Sedan passed me - talk about jaw dropping. I've seen the thunder gray and black colors, but never in white. It looked awesome from the front, and great from the back as it drove away with its widened haunches sticking out. Might be my new favorite CTS color, I just wish pictures could do it justice.

White Diamond is too not-white for my taste, but oh boy howdy does a light color show off the CTS design.

Sedan... Sedan?! White Wagon baby....
However, I am really disappointed. Didn't know about the coupe version until I saw the pic. The back end just looks... wrong.

I'm just telling you what I saw, if it were my money I'd have bought the wagon! Are you a European Jalop? I find it crazy that you haven't heard of the coupe before, I really like them.

Yeah, I always thought I wouldn't really like White Diamond that much just because it almost looks like a tan/creme color, but yesterday put those thoughts to rest. I was blown away, even after having seen several CTS-Vs in the past.

I am a London based Jalopponaut. I have not seen a CTS-V of any style in the flesh, only what i've seen on the web/tv.
The wagon was all I was aware of as it gets a lot of talking about on here, cool wagons having unicorn status in the states, assumed the sedan existed because America loves sedans.
I like the lines on the sedan a lot more, the coupe looks more like a sporty euro style hatch rather than a coupe.

I think I remember you saying you were London based in past comments, I can see why you haven't seen one. I remember when I was there I hardly saw any GM cars, although surprisingly I did see a few Suburbans and an Escalade in the Knightsbridge area, which I found weird...
Is that Knightsbridge area? I don't know....somewhere in that general vicinity

I only actually joined officially today, used some burner accounts for commenting in the past on matters such as Ferrari 412.
There are very few US originals that make it over here. The Cadillac BLS was an awful thing that they sold for a while which wasn't even a US model. One of the only 'true' US cars that gained any traction was the 300C, which was based on an old Mercedes if memory serves. They just don't sell the good ones over here, it's only in the last couple years you could buy a Corvette from a dealer here and even then the steering wheel is still on the wrong side.
There are a number of Escalades, F-150's, Hummers and other assorted US motors imported on the grey-market but are typically owned by the nouveau riche/footballer set, nothing tasteful.

I see, I must be thinking of someone else that was London based. I spent a week there and by the end of the trip Bentley Continentals began to look as common as a Mustang over here in the US. Definitely one of my favorite cities.

Bentley Continentals and Aston Martins are very common around here, especially in South West London down to the Surrey suburbs.
London is a great city for lots of things. Living in London is great, working here is not, but you can't afford to live here unless you work here.
Also, there's nowhere good or fun to drive within the M25 really. Gridlock and traffic enforcement cameras everywhere. Bus lanes, cycle lanes, congested one way systems, speed bumps, traffic lights forever, no parking.

I can imagine travel by car is difficult. When I was there I made the decision to walk everywhere so I could see as much of the city as possible. Found the experience far more enjoyable than cramming myself into the trains among the thousands of others on the Underground.

My parents have a rare 2008 Suburban with white diamond paint. It's truly a beautiful color.

The wagon is the wagon. No explanation needed.
The Coupe? Best 2 door Caddy since the 69 Eldorado, and that iconic car's modern heir, no doubt.
However, the Sedan is great, and the V? Come on - I love how even I, dyed in the wool GM guy, fave car, have to look for the V and the other, rather subtle cues that indicate this is the one with double the base car's horsepower.
I like that. I got annoyed even driving a CRX Si and having the 'Honda Club of Palmdale' wanna race me every time I was just trying to make time on the way to the highway, getting revved on constantly by every shitbox modded Civic or fwd car in LA, and the attention from cops was really out of proportion to it's stock suspension, 200 dollar American Racing 15's and Toyos, and 108 screaming horsepower.
The Sedan? I'd love the sedan. Debadge it like I did my SE-R and just crush sucker after sucker. Might even be fun to put the 3.6 badges on the back, and everyone just thinks you're driving a sane luxury sedan.
All win for me - if I won the lottery or got the million dollar rock star contract tomorrow, I'd go to a Caddy/Chevy dealer, ZR1, Z06, CTS-Vs in all three flavors - why not, rock star, beeeyotch - Z/28, and maybe, just maybe, a diesel Cruze so I can feel better about all of the mileage I wouldn't be getting most of the time - because I would simply not care :D
A car for every day of the week, minimum 500hp each, an extra one for being truly frugal/inconspicuous, and I probably still haven't crested the price of some of the cars Jalopniks drool over...yeah, GM sucks a big donkey, all right...

Oh, and I usually hate the vaguely 'cream' pearl whites most luxo cars use - that hue, however, is perfect.

I agree, I'm not usually a fan of off whites, but White Diamond is awesome. I'm not sure I agree about the CTS-V sedan being almost indistinguishable from the Coupe and Sportwagon. All three share the same fascia, V specific side skirts, and widened wheel arches. There are times where I see a sedan from afar or at night and find myself wondering if its a V or not, but most of the time it isn't. When a V shows up, I feel like I notice it almost immediately, they have an incredible presence.
I do see what you're saying though, and I will say that some of my family that aren't into cars hardly notice the V. They think they're cool for sure, but other than that it may as well be just any old Cadillac, which makes it a great sleeper like you said.
