I'll tell you straight up. Sometimes, you can be an ass. But does that make you a terrible person? Hell no, you do honestly listen to people's opinions, and that is what makes you a worthwhile member.

As to this guy, I argued ad nauseum, about how intelligence is defined by the ability to make finer distinctions. He kept with his original point, and wouldn't back down or even acknowledge the possibility of another opinion. You are a valuable member of the community, this... excuse me if I use your language for a second... thundercunt, can go home.

Comments seem borked and I can't see any of them, but to Joe I directly address that yes, I know I'm a dick.

Its a pretty well established trait of mine, I'm not going to make excuses for me being a dick. I know its something I'll always have to work on when I'm commenting, and I'm just as stubborn in real life so this isn't some 'keyboard warrior' mentality.

I also appreciate being told "to my face", or as close as it can get on the internet.

So forgive me for being a little upset that everyone takes it as a chance to go all Brutus on me in a thread I might not have ever come across, I thought we were all better than that.

Its not that, I'm well used to the verbal and physical abuse, hell I was raised under pretty racist times and if there is one thing I've learned is that there are people who will tell it to your face because they want to see an improvement and there are those who will go behind you and try and rattle the cage by gaining public support because in the end they need more attention to make themselves feel good.

I read the entire post and all the comments, why he felt some perverted need to even make the post is something he can come to terms with himself.

Nothing I can do to change that. I dismissed his posts because I didn't want to get into a pointless internet bitchfight, I know I'm so stupid for using a feature that was made for just that purpose, and instead of him moving on like I did he felt a need to come here and cry to the masses.

He wasn't trolling; he was just presenting is argument in a severely uninformed and nonsensical manner. Equally as bad as (or worse than) trolling, in my opinion.

As for Bob Loblaw's comment? I might agree with that, to a point. You do, in fact, come off as elitist sometimes. But we all have our own problems and shortcomings to work through, don't we? That's just part of being human.

That is why I tried to not respond and dismissed. Better for me to just avoid it entirely and instead of being a grown up he went and had a hissy fit on Oppo about it.

I am not, and will never claim that I'm somehow better. I am a dick and I'm pretty abrasive and even when I'm right I come off like a dick.

The one difference is I just keep it all to myself. I try not to lash out at one person in particular, I try to live and let live. Its the internet, shit happens. No one person will ever agree with you all the time. Making a large a fuss as he did about it just makes the entire situation worse and quite honestly, as bad as I look for it, makes him look worse.

I can only speak from what I have experienced and you seem like a pretty decent person, you haven't been a dick to me in any way and you bring interesting content and discussion to Oppo. Oppo is about discussing cars, will we disagree? We better otherwise it would be a massive circlejerk (which it is at times..).
