!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! got me thinking about JDM vs USDM scenes on the opposite sides of the pond. We have a sizable JDM scene in the States, and Japan has a small, but devoted, USDM scene on their side. In the States we also have the Euro Spec guys. But wait, why Euro Spec? Why not call it EDM? After all, that only makes sense, right? Wrong.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

There isn't actually a singular EDM style because Europe is not a country, it is a continent with a loose association of countries (though not all countries in Europe participate, and not all the participating countries are European. Yeah, this totally makes sense.). While all countries in Europe are party to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , there will still be regional differences for LHD and RHD cars. So it is my hypothesis that the reason we call it Euro Spec and not EDM is mainly due to the fact that EDM has multiple standards. Or maybe it's because (tempting though it may be) most people don't want to explain to someone what an EDM BMW E46 M3 GTR is. What do you Opponauts think? Is Euro Spec proper, or should we reclaim EDM from dance music?

Euro Spec should be the proper form, unless the car in question is a RHD pre-BMW Mini, Triumph, MG, Land Rover... In which case it would in fact be EDM, English Domestic Market.

I was under the impression it would be UKDM.

Otherwise, you might have a bunch of Welshmen and Scots screaming at you.

Even Euro Spec doesn't make any sense, since what options cars have in different European countries has historically often differed widely due to the local importers ordering different things from the factories. For instance, all Swedish Spec 1990 Mazda MX-5s had power steering, no A/C, viscous LSD, red paintjobs (or at least most of them were red) and this unique nose decal (located where the Mazda badge is on 1993-1997 NAs):

I'm sure you could arrange ordering one from Miata Club of Sweden .

Ask on the forum 's International Posts area and see if they'll ship it to you. If not, I could be your middle man.
