Daily Drive, Track, or Burn: Coupes that aren't coupes

Welcome to Daily Drive, Track, Or Burn! 3 choices, 3 cars, you know what to do.

On Monday I showed you guys a selection of cars from around my campus. While the results were obvious, it had to be done. The C63 gets the garage spot due to its 4 seats and "practicality" and the Corvette goes to the track because racecar. Finally, much to the surprise of no one, the Hot Wheels Camaro got the fiery death it deserves for being an ugly piece of shit.

Today I gathered up three cars that get called coupes but still have four doors. To me that's not a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! anymore, but these decisions were made by people with much larger paychecks than me so I should probably just shut my mouth.

1. The BMW M6Gran Coupe

With a twin turbo'd V8 pushing 560 hp this beast of a machine can put a smile on even the sternest face. Rear wheel drive makes it fun in the corners even though you're forced to use it's 8 speed automatic gearbox. It comes with all the usual luxury tourer amenities like active seats and night vision, but you also get something else, stage presence. When you pass people in your 6 series they're going to notice.

2. The Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG

Did I say the BMW had stage presence? Whoops. I forgot about this thing. Another V8 with twin turbos. this one is capable of over 550 hp. While that's more than enough for most mortals, if you need it Renntech with make you one that's pushing 800. New for 2014 they come with Mercedes 4matic drive train, which, while putting enthusiasts into an uproar, also allows it to go from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. 3.7, with seating for 5. 5 people going from 0-60 in the amount of time it takes most supercars to get there. That's fucking absurd if you don't mind me saying. Also, Ray Donovan drives a CLS, so its obviously cool.

3. The Audi RS7 Sportback

Three twin turbo V8's in one day? I'm not going to complain. Good for 553 hp this one sits in the middle of the power figures. Match that up with Audi's Quattro system and a ZF 8 speed auto box and all of a sudden you've got another 3.7 second car that's limited to 190 mph. However, there are rumors that it could break 200 mph if its unrestricted. I vote we try it.

Of, and if you haven't noticed, I think these are gonna be a MWF post from now on as that's what I have time for. And as always, suggestions are welcome, complaints are not, deal with it.

I disagree whole heartedly with calling it a granCOUPE. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to burn it.

Love the sleeper potential of the Bim, BUT: to my eye it's just not quite as rakishly pretty and thrilling as the other two. Burn, with regrets.

This leaves me saying DD the AMG (and damn the operating costs), while tracking the Audi.

Burn the Gran Coupé ! You can't use two different languages in a car's name and expect to get away with it. And it isn't even in the slightest a coupé.

Appart from that, track the Mercedes, because RWD = fun, and it looks too stupid to be seen in it on public roads, so DD the Audi.

The 2014 CLS's come as 4matics AKA not RWD. They also look very imposing on public roads.

These cars are all pretty much the same when it comes to performance, so this was all gut and eyes.

I have feelings for that Audi that are illegal in every state, so this is an easy decision. That rear end... DD

I think the BMW is sexy too, but can't touch the Audi, so... Track

Despite being bold and beautiful, I can't seem myself in the Merc. I want to exude some sort of douchie vibe, but not that one. Burn.
