Sunset hitting the back end of my Firebird, had to pull the cars out to blow out the dust in the garage...

That's a good looking Firebird. The 4th-gen is my least favorite, but this makes me want one.
What wheels are those?

I always wanted to know (this might be outside of your knowledge of the platform), the car that I drive has never taken me into the territory of f-body muscle cars - how similar were these to the Trans-Am's of the same time? A good friend had one for a little while. That is, until he sold it and the new owner bought it for his girlfriend, painted all the accents pink, and named it Barbie :(
To his credit he did all the work well and everything, but it was for sure a bit of a surprise to see the car we put so much work into dressed up like a drag queen.
Anyway though - I'm assuming it shared a couple body panels, and the LSX engine?

Those wheels are the sex, what are they?

The V6 Firebird and the Trans Am have a lot of things that are relatively the same. There's a few options here and there that aren't available in one or the other, yadda yadda.
Main differences will be:
V6 vs V8
Different K-member to work with the engine difference.
5 speed manual or 4L60E with bellhousing to match the V6 bolt pattern and different input shaft versus the LS1 having the T-56 six speed (I actually have this with my V6, custom swap using an adapter plate) and 4L60E with a little beefier input shaft.
Steel vs. Aluminum driveshaft, some of the early model V6's had two-piece steel drive shafts *shudder*
Different hatch, the V6/Formula has a one piece molded rear hatch/spoiler while the Trans Am has a hatch with the separate high-rise spoiler.
Some differences in the springs and swaybars, but nothing too huge.
WS.6 options work on the Formula and Trans Am, so that adds the "Ram Air" hood plus suspension upgrades.

Speedline Mistral 6's. Don't know anybody else that has them. Bought them off a team that raced them in the SCCA World Challenge on their Camaro back in the late 90's. Refinished them, and I love them as they look somewhat OEM but to the discerning eye (speedline sticker excluded), they'll realize it's not the stock wheel.

I think they look fantastic on that car. Looks like the car itself could stand to be lowered just a little, but it may just be the angle of the sunlight messing with my perception.
Seriously... I'm completely jealous of this car now.

Thanks, it is lowered and the light is messing with that a bit. It's as low as it'll go as Lubbock streets are bad, and I have longtube headers that I'm partial to not turning into pancakes lol!
