Why? Why not really. Won't be a long review, but here is what I will be grading on: Installation, sound, how it fits, and looks. So let us begin!

Installation: 25 out of 25

It took me 30 minutes to put this exhaust on. 30 minutes. I have nothing else to say, it was great!

Sound: 15 out of 25

This thing sounds awesome, really gives the car some noise it should have deserved from the start. It crackles from time to time, and it has a nice little rumble to it. There is a little raspiness to it but it doesn't sound ricey.

There however, is one gigantic problem with the exhaust. That is the drone. It just drones and drones and drones. I can be going 30 mph and it will start to drone at 2.5K RPMs. I took an hour drive with this exhaust at about 70mph and I literally had to turn the speakers up to full volume to listen to the a podcast. Funny thing is, if I didn't want to get headers, this would have been fine. I am fine with a loud exhaust. Only problem is, is that I do want headers(now that there is one with a catalytic converter). So even though I got rid of them because of how they looked, I would have eventually gotten rid of them anyway. This brings us to the next point. . .

Looks: 12 out of 25

Go from the split back to the front pipe this exhaust looks awesome. It is shiny and it has a nice badge right in the middle for added sexiness. The welds look really really good too, a lot better than some of the more expensive stuff on the market. Then there are the mufflers and the tips. They are all integrated into one, so it looks kind of like a fart can. Plus the tips look massive because unlike other exhaust systems there is just a thin layer of metal instead a rolled look. The exit angle is a bit extreme as well. Overall, it just kind of cheapens the looks of the system.

How it fits: 15 out of 25

The muffler tip combo is also a really tight fit. The tips almost rub on the pseudo diffuser with the stock hangers. Once you change those out though the mufflers will still be too close for comfort. It is just kind of annoying. Everything else though is perfect and I had no problems there.

Conclusion: 65 out of 100

Overall not to bad of an experience. My biggest problem with the exhaust was the way it looked kind of ricey. If you are okay with that, short on money, and you aren't looking to upgrade anything else on the exhaust, then this is a really good option.

Looks were the biggest issue? It sounds like the drone was intolerable though. (I can't stand drone either)

Oh yeah, drone was a big issue, but I can live with a loud exhaust. Looks were the biggest issue, but now that I want headers the loudness of it would have definitely been it.

Easiest thing I have ever done. Besides giving birth to that dragon of course.

My Corksport catback on my Speed3 has that same blaringly loud cold start note where it just reverberates with that hollow sound. I'm right about there with you on the sound rating too. I don't get too much rasp but sometimes there's a bit more loudness than there is good engine noise. I like it in some settings but in others I just hope I'm not waking up the neighbors. A friend has the Invidia exhaust on his 350z, one of the things I love about it is how they have that plaque welded on the back that says Invidia.

Ah, now tell me about the installation.

Are you for serious? Like okay, first we like uninstalled the old exhaust. Then we like, you know, put the new one up. It was like much easier because like the resonator was like not connected to like the fork in like the exhaust pipe. So like it was less blucky and stuff, yah know?

Which was better; the instillation or the installation?

Dammit! Now I realize what you were talking about.

Why didn't you just tell me I spelled installation wrong! Do you think this is some sort of game?!?!?!!?!??! I was wondering "why does this guy want to know about the install." Now I know you were just toying with my mind. Yoooouuu!!!

My WRX even at stock has some drone, and while that Subaru burble can be intoxicating, you sometimes want a quiet, relaxing drive back home from work.

Part of me wants an aftermarket exhaust, the other rational me knows it's going to get old. Also, you can't just bolt on an exhaust in a WRX and expect any gains. So that exhaust is going to have to come with a tune, and if that's the case I'll just wait to stage 2 it once I don't have a warranty to worry about.

Sports cars rule. They really do.

From my understanding, you have a turbo car so you will get more gains from a freer flowing exhaust. I say do it! I am doing everything and hoping to God it won't be too loud. From videos I have seen, the resonators should do a good job of quieting things down.

Not without a tune it won't. I am looking into a Cobb Accessport, though!

That's strange. I guess Subaru screwed your ECU. Other people get gains with a simple exhaust even without a tune on my car.

That's the way it is with these turbo boxers. It's not particular to just my car. They're complicated engines.

In some cases, I heard, an exhaust upgrade will cause the ECU to reduce boost. I'm not a gearhead, so take everything I say with a grain of salt, but everything I've read says that an exhaust upgrade requires some ECU remapping. Enter things like the Cobb Accessport.

Well no, my ECU does the same thing if you change the air intake or go catless. It registers a problem and then saps power, but if you go with full exhaust+cats though you will gain about 10 to 15 hp. Strange how my car works. Either way an ECU upgrade is always a good thing, it can really get the best out of the parts, sometimes it is even keeps the engine healthier than the stock one.

People love to complain about the stock tune on the WRX.

Stock tunes are usually to "preserve" the engine so they run it lean. They always suck. Booo manufactures!!
