When the topic of "best movie car chase scene" comes up, these titles that are most often thrown around. While those films and their chase scenes have their merits, I would like to add a little known French film to the list.

Honestly, I have no idea what the movie is actually about. Like Alec Baldwin's motivational speech from Hell at the beginning of " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ", the rest of the movie doesn't much matter. What matters is the opening four and a half minutes of mid-80's European car porn, as a Lancia Thema, Audi 100, Bmw 528i, Mercedes 190E, Peugeot 505, Renault 25, Saab 900 turbo beat the snot out of each other on an automotive test track somewhere in France. Sparks and body panels fly as the drivers jockey for position for some untold victory.

Mostly because of this i watched both the original flic and the 20 years later , that this section comes from.
The original is a very good movie i would watch again, the 20 years later however doesn't really make any sense, and the only good part about it is this 4,5 minutes. So you're good on that with this clip, but you should still watch the original. Not convinced? There is a Mustang participating in the Monte Carlo rally in there. 'nuff said.
(Oh and fun fact: i owned a 100 before and own a 505 now. I wouldn't say no to any of the others either, the Lancia being the exception.)
