In 1965 Toyota Launched the Sports 800 as a low powered, fun to drive, small car. Although this car was great and was transformed into many variants of racing cars, it wasn't until 1967 that Toyota launched a revolution. The 2000GT: a sleek, fast, and light sports car. The car was brilliant! Powered by the 3M engine from the high end Toyota Crown (2.0 I6) it made 150hp and could get up to 135MPH. However the only thing wrong with it was the price. In the US, it cost $6,800. This was more than all the other fast cars of the time ( E type, 911, ETC) In all, it was great.

After a long wait, the AE86. It wasn't too much of a sports car at the time until Initial D came along with the Tofu Drift Car. The car came with the 4AG 1.6 I4 making about 116HP. The rear wheel drive layout made it enormous fun to drive despite its low power output.

Next came the next huge sports car success from Toyota: the MK4 Supra. It made 320hp, quite a bit even today. This car was a hit among tuners, especially when "Fast and Furious" came out with a modified MK4 as the star.
(hooniverse)
Finally, the GT86. This car is known as one of the best driving cars of the 21s century. A rear wheel drive layout with a low boxer engine by Subaru makes this car amazing fun. Designed as a tribute to the AE86 it has a tendency to drift, quite a bit. Not a single journalist has said this is not a good drivers car, yet almost all of them say it needs more power; something they are most likely working on.
So to get to the point, Toyota, notice how almost all the Sporty cars you make are awesome? These are just a few. I didn't even include the MR2/MRS, Celica, and the other Supras. Not to mention the Lexus department. So do you see what I'm saying? Every time you make a sports car it turns out amazing. So please, build more.

Please use your new partnership with BMW to put a twin turbo inline 6 in the FRS/GT86 and make it the new Supra. That is all.

Yeah, but that would be a BMW engine..... How about a new engine directly from Toyota.... A GT86 3JZ-GTE

Is there a problem with BMW motors? They already have a Subaru motor in it so whats the difference?

Good list. Shame everybody always forgets about the old Celicas/Celica-Supras/Starlets/FX16 GTS/Celica All Trac/MR2. Toyota has made a ton of awesome sporty cars in the past.

I was confused by the formatting so I removed the (?[]...) around the images but left the image credits.

Thats fine. It's a bug in kinja. If you write something on a desktop and edit it on mobile it does that.

There's nothing wrong with BMW engines and nothing wrong with Subaru engines too. I would just want Toyota to step up and develop their own engines for their new sportscars.

I doubt they will. Because the cost of development of new elements is so high Toyota has created a system of only developing new elements if they will work across a number of cars (or all the cars) in their global product line. A high performance motor would not really fit into their product line very well at this point.
