At least not on Corvette bones.
Hey, if they take the platform and put the engine in the middle, it doesn't mean the car is based on the Corvette, right? Right?
Well, like Jim Farley would put it, Fuck GM!!!

Hey, GM, glue some vent ports on it and sell it as a Buick in China.

That would never work. A real Mid-Engined sports car needs to be engineered that way from the ground up, and doing it right is hard. There's a reason why most of them today are in the $100k range or approach it, and it's not all about gouging the 1% (Though that's a huge part of it)
You can't just pull a 'there, I fixed it' and stick the engine in the middle of a chassis not meant for MR. The only way Caddy (or any Gm name plate) is going to get a MR sports car is if they build a platform from the ground up for it, and like or not, GM has 0% reason to do that right now. Maybe that will change after we transition away from platforms to kits, but GM is miles behind their competition in this specific area. That's another discussion, though.

You know, in another era, an ambitious Japanese automaker begged to differ. Back on the Cadillac, I don't have a problem if it costs over $100.000, as it would be a brand building, R8 rival.

Nope. The MR2 did not start life out as anything other than an MR car, even in the concept stage. I know you really want an MR caddy, but the only way you can have one is either stealing one of the Cien prototypes, or buying a CTS-V and paying a shop to move the engine into the backseat.
Or buy that hideous twinstar thing and remove the front engine. So, three ways. None of which involve building an MR sports car out of the not-MR C7 Chassis.

Well, I still hope that GM's next possible CEO will remember the car when he will be in charge.
