Someone thought it would be a good idea to import a Trabant 601 to New Jersey, and I want to find this person, and shake their hand. Nothing beats driving a 23hp East German communist car around in the states!

It does on the back to, I have no idea. Maybe it was one of those "car visas" where its allowed here for X amount of days (6 months?)

Maybe the owner is a German citizen, and can therefore drive it on German plates? I'm not sure on the rules over there.. But since it is most likely 25+ years old it's possible to register that even though it's a commie car!

It'd be possible to register but the only way to use out of country plates for a car that is staying in the country for a while ( i dont know if this applies to canada but it does to mexico) is to have a car visa.

If it had NJ historic plates on it then yeah it'd be no issue being it is old as hell. 25 years is our limit for the government not giving a crap.
