Hey guys, thought I'd have a little fun with a pic of the Montego today. I did a couple silly color shifts (please pay no attention to the background changing with the car LOL) and thought I'd put it up to a vote for when the time comes in 74 years when I actually have the cash for a paint job.

Note Red has an advantage right away being the original color, especially because I have the original window sticker to display with the car (which obviously calls out the car is originally Cardinal Red). Either way, thought it would be fun!

Keep her red. But, if you go black, up it to Marauder spec.

Haha, they didn't make a "Marauder" in 68, only 69 (and it was even BIGGER than the Montego). And it's engines were all available in a normal Montego. In fact the Cyclone was the most performance oriented car of 68. My car is a Cyclone handling package car, not a Cyclone. It's tricky.

I plan on keeping the 302 that's in there. It's a blast to drive and the exhaust system comes soon.

My grandfather's Montego was in this light green (don't know what the Ford called the color).

Nice to see that they are reviving a similar shade on the fiestas and foci.

Cool to hear about another Montego, is it still around? They are sooo hard to find. I've only ever found 1 on the road and it was a 4 door (bleh).

no - afraid not - it was a '71 2 door, i believe. Base, I expect, although it likely had a V8.

I worked at a pizza shop years ago and one of our delivery drivers had this same paint color on his Montego. Was pretty clean nice duel flowmasters so had some rumble and some old school wheels and tire package. Kinda funny delivering pizza in a gas guzzler but to each his own.. Similar to this in looks not color obviously.
