They were using the last gen Fusion Hybrids as well, so it's not exactly a surprise to see this. The real question is, are there any other agencies using cars that are classier, or at least look it, than the average Ford Interceptor, Caprice, or Charger?

Last I checked, Dubai wasn't in America.

In "TheSupremeLou"s defense, you never specified USA only lol

For the summer, their richest citizens are!

(Honestly, just got too excited and ignored the "in the Country" part.)

I wonder if Ford is pissed they didn't buy a Taurus or just happy they sold a car...

It's interesting to see a Fusion in Police gear though, I haven't seen one before.

I would say Ford is pretty pleased with them.

Ahh, they have a wide array of Ford's in service, they ought to be pretty damn happy.

Also because if I remember correctly NYC was chevy territory with the Impala police car wasn't it?

Haha, it's understandable. That's partly the reason why I asked the question though. It's rare to see police agencies in the States use cars other than the usual suspects, especially one that's been met with such acclaim for it's design.

They've always had a healthy mix of cars, but it's certainly seemed like the Impalas were top dog the past few years. I don't live in the city, but it's always fun going there and seeing all the different vehicles they use.

That's definitely true. The problem is that most of the vehicles used were designed for fleet use and that adds up to durable, albeit uninspiring, cars.

To properly answer your question though, the Charles County Sheriff's Office once confiscated a GMC Envoy (with obligatory 30 in rims, tint, sound system, etc.) that they livried out and used for actual duty and not just exhibitions. They also had a Mustang that they kept stock on the outside, but it was fully equipped with all the goodies on the inside. It got quite a lot of people who tried to race it only to receive a ticket.

That's what makes the NYPD's use of the Fusion, amongst other cars, so unique in my opinion. They don't operate just one, they have dozens. Being the largest police force in the country doesn't hurt that I'm sure.

I'm kind of curious what the difference is in the operating cost of the Fusion and the Crown Vic.
