How Often: Do You Drive Some One Else's Car

So, you drive your own car a bunch of places. I get that. However, how often do you consider yourself to have driven other people's cars? Now disregard that company car that you have, because that plain doesn't count. How often?

I do not like driving other people's cars at all. For whatever reason, I just want to stick to my car. I have no one drive my car, and I drive no one else'. Parents not exempt. It just seems that when I am in my car, if something happens, it is my fault, my consequence. However, if I drive in another car, no matter what happens, the good friend that I borrowed that car from is going to be screwed...

That's just me, what about you?

I usually don't drive others' vehicles often. That being said I've driven my GF's '12 Insight (so sloooooooooooooooow) on occasion and regularly drive my friend's '99 Civic if we take it.

Very rarely, and when I do it's usually within the family.

The last time I drove someone else's car was two weeks ago in my brother's Focus, as he was busy driving the UHaul to his new apartment. The time before that was over a year ago, also my brother's Focus, as we switched off to drive across the state and back in a day.

I would say rather often. Yesterday I drove a E36 323i and a 2005 Mazda 3 with the 2l engine. Both are fun cars and actually if I had to buy one on those I will be very confused, but most probably will pick the BMW, becasue RWD. Sadly the roads were rather boring.

I would say I drive a different car them mine CLK and Lada every month.

If I take the train to visit my parents, I usually end up borrowing my dad's HS250h to get around. It gets the job done. But other than that, I'm typically not driving other people's cars.

I drive someone else's car on a daily basis. My roommate and I carpool to work and I drive his car into work and he drives it on the way home. We never take my car as it gets 9 MPG. Fortunatly he is not a car guy and could care less if his car gets dinged scrapped etc.

Funny story, I let me roommate in college drive my truck to take this girl on a date. He was sitting at a red light and dropped his phone on the floor board. Idiot bends over to pick his phone up and takes his foot of the brake, only to idle into the Prius in front of him. Long story short, steel bull bar and lift kit plus Prius rear end equals $800 in damages. Idiot.

My insurance company thought it was a scam and came out to investigate my vehicle as they couldn't understand how the prius could get so much damage and why I wasn't putting in a claim.

I frequently drive others cars. My roommate is from the boonies in upstate New York and is completely incompetent when it comes to the city and mountain driving here in CO. I prefer to drive his Toyota Highland Hybrid (shit brakes) than let him drive as I get nervous and frustrated particularly in downtown Denver where we live.

I also frequently sell vehicles for my friends so they trust me with cleaning up the car and making sure it is suitable for sale. I think they also prefer if I got Craigslist robbed/stabbed rather than them. This week I am listing my friend's Volvo XC70 and a Mazda CX-7 for another. I will go through with a good wash and wax, deep interior clean and find a good place to take pictures. They typically give me a good base payment + commission above the agreed target price (reasonable).

TL; DR I am comfortable driving someone else's car.

Very rarely do I drive another person's car (other than my brother's/parents cars as needed) unless I'm sober and they're drunk. Though I do really love when my brother goes away for work and leaves me to take care of his 328i X-Drive coupe (since he can't street park it while he's away). Hooray hoonage!!

Whenever someone asks me if I would like to drive their car, my answer will always be "yes". It doesn't matter what the actual car is, or how excrementally bad it may be, I will drive it. "You wanna drive my '84 Renault Encore?" "YES I DO." (And I did.) Anyone can choose to drive the fun cars, but I want to experience the whole automotive spectrum; the good, the bad, and the Yugo.
