Can the RX-8 finally get some love?

Truth be told, I’ve been I fan of them for quite a while. Yes, the Renesis wankel is a unreliable piece of crap that has highly damaged the Rotary’s reputation (you better be putting a 20B in it though ). And yes, I’ll admit their not as good looking as the RX-7 (mainly the FD).

But you know what? I still think it looks pretty damn good. Not to mention it handled extremely well, was a lot cheaper then the RX-7 (as it should be), and (people forget this) won a shit ton of awards throughout it’s production. 37, in fact. Plus, SUCIDE DOORS. How could you not like that! And while yes, Renesis is crap, you can’t deny it’s accompanying sound track isn’t great (while it’s running).

So yeah, RX-8. When it runs, it’s great. Guess you could say it’s my Z31.

I actually prefer the styling to the RX7, I know I may be in the minority but...I like angles.

It would almost be hysterical if they did headers and flowmasters on it. Make it sound like a true muscle car when you pull up to a tuner night. LOL

I always loved them. My dad has an '04 still trucking along great. Just replaced 3 of the 4 coil packs however.

I never got the RENESIS = unreliable thing... at least not anymore than any other rotary.

My RX8 has been running quite swimmingly for as long as I've had it, and the whole time before that. I'm about to turn over 95k miles on the original engine with compression numbers at the top end of the range. It more comes down to how you treat them than the design.
