HOLY SHIT THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.
Cadillac calls this the Elmiraj, but because that sounds like something you'd see in a Mexican desert while nibbling on peyote, I'm calling it **Eldorado. **
Here is the other video provided by Cadillac:
The most important part of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! - "The Elmiraj is powered by a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 delivering an estimated 500 hp." While this is 56 less horsepower than the blown 6.2 in the CTS-V, this concept weighs 200lbs less than a CTS-V. Still, I wouldn't expect V-like performance, because after all this car is wearing a V-Sport badge not a V-Series badge.
Regardless of this car's performance and how it compares to the CTS-V, the fact that GM is toying with twin turbos on V8s is a very good thing
* CUE (get it, CUE?) turbo-vs-supercharger argument in the comments.
The new logo, seen on the front of the car, was sort of what I was going for when I created the sketches below after learning the brand was modernizing it's logo. I appeared to be in the ballpark - thinking the crest would stay and wreath be integrated into the logo.
It's a damn fine looking piece of automobile.
Here is a version I tweaked last night:

there are a lot of concept features on this car and with that kind of car i am usually disappointed with the production results (see genesis coupe) but this shape has so much right that the details aren't going to matter much. I just hope and pray that interior is half as good.

A little bit of A5 in there but otherwise a very good (and hopefully) closer-to-production type car than the it's bigger design exercise brother.

So the wreath is gone?

Not gone, but integrated. What I was trying to do was wrap silver or black around the crest and stretch it, I just am not a designer nor a graphics person, so I sucked at my attempts - my vision I think was spot on. Here is the logo close up from Twitter:

Yeah, I think it's gone. Or rather melted into the logo like a T-1001 from Terminator.

That's an interesting thought, maybe the wreath is symbolically embodied in the chrome trim that wraps around the bottom of the grille and down the sides of the car.

Stupid name.
Beautiful car, it addressed all but one complaint I had against the Ciel and improved it everywhere.

to be fair, that concept never had a snowballs chance in hell. its a mainstream family sedan...most families have heads and need to see the road.

I've only liked the interior so far. And what's this? Another interior where the rear seats can only be used for legless children.

Chevy doesn't always deliver from concept car to production, but Cadillac has an excellent track record of bringing their concept cars to life in a way that is very much true to their originals. Look no further that the XTS Platinum, the Converj, the Provoq, and the CTS coupe concept. Granted the Ciel, Elmiraj, and Mystery Caddy are meant to show the future of Cadillac design, where as the others represented upcoming models in the near future.

Not to be nitpicky, but this is about 200 lbs lighter than a CTS-V (if their 'approximate' weight is correct), not heavier.

Thanks John. Not nitpicky at all. I like it when people point out errors. It's all about getting it right :)
Not sure where I pulled a 3,800lb weight for the CTS-V. I've owned two CTS-Vs myself (Gen 1 and Gen 2) so you'd think this was something I would know. I'm updated the post. Thanks again!

Nah, they'd fit until they got too big for this. That's when you know they are old enough to remove their legs.

It's a fine looking machine. I currently drive a BMW Alpina B7 and would seriously consider trading it in for the Elmiraj. Is there a 4 door model in the foreseeable future?

They (Cadillac) haven't confirmed this as a production car, so I doubt we'll know anything of other models until they make that call.
