To me, the Lamborgini Aventador is the most radical looking car on the road. Its sharp lines and one of a kind body make it look amazing. Its design makes it look aggressive as it is, a raging bull. So show me Oppositelock, what car has the most radical design?

This model year or any? Production or one-off?

I need more boundaries!

I hate to be the pedantic one, but there's no question in my mind. In a world where non-horsedrawn transport was just making a breakthrough and the motor car was hardly even a thing, this came along and I think that, if people had been 80's surfers back then, they'd have cheered, "That's rad, man! Radical! Way out!"

Most radical? This: NSU spider. Totally unremarkable, except for the batshit insane engine.

Actually you've perfectly summed up why I dont like any of Lamborghini's recent concept cars. The Aventador is styling turned up to 11 already. We dont need to turn it up to 12. You end up with a cartoon of a cartoon.

Man. Extreme sports were so weird back in the day.

Kinja'd!!!

Guess you can't blame them though. Doritos, Redbull, Monster, none of that shit was invented back then so they just had to figure shit out for themselves.

Yea but thats the point. That is Lamborghini.

They never pretend to be anything they aren't.

They've always created insanity and they always will and they had to make SOMETHING that outdid Pagani.

yeah. its a "production"car, I just brought it up as an example of Lamborghini trying to be even more, more extreme. It's all a bit too much IMHO, the Egoista is even more of that and is much much worse as a result.

I disagree. Lamborghini is about coming up with a nice design and then turning it up to 11. Going over the top crazy.

But you can't take your previous over the top crazy car and then just continue to add more crazy. There comes a point where the basic design can no longer support the absurd amount of crazy that is being forced upon it.

If a biplane is a Corvette and a triplane is an Aventador, the Egoista is a triplane that someone looked at and said "three is good, but what if it had a thousand wings!!!?"

Even when you are known to be crazier than anyone else there has to be a limit.

Tight body panels, enclosed wheels, no running boards, enclosed headlights, advanced aerodynamics, low-slung stature, and incredible top speed? I think that the 1948 XK120 started a new school of design (which carried on through the 50s and 60s) of aeronautic-styled high performance cars. Compared to even its predecessor, it was decades ahead of anything else, in term of shape, at the time.

Yeah, I figured it was cheating so I changed it over to a legitimate response. XK120 FTW, although there might have been an earlier car that did these things first, the XK120 was what jumped into my head.

That XJ is classically radical for the time it was made.

My problem with the Aventador is that it, while it's "Crazy" compared to a normal car, doesn't look much different from the Zonda, 458/F430, Murcielago, Koenigsegg CCX, Diablo, etc. It's different, but its different in the same way such cars have always been.

Kinja'd!!!

If you mean mechanical design though, the Lamborghini is boring and really nothing impressive. For radical mechanical design, the Koenigsegg Agera R takes the cake. Triplex suspension, 1200HP V8, bespoke wiring and completely carbon fiber one-piece chassis/fuel cell/sensors/wheels/intake,
