Was he going for a simplified, clean look?

Kinja'd!!!

It was a badgeless Yamaha with an extended swing arm. Looked pretty clean, if you're into the long&low sportbike look.

It's not like he just took it off because it broke - he would have had to swap out the distribution block since there's only one brake line going down to the hub.

No front brake needed for hill climbs.

It's a drag bike. This is a cheap way of reducing front wheel rotating inertia.

This dood must be a HARD CORE drag racer. (/sarcasm)

Ah, right side rotor delete. Simplify, and add braking distance.

Just keep it off the ground. Problem solved.

Pro-stock drag bikes loft the front wheel so quickly that it's barely spinning until it touches down half-way down the track...

That is insanity.

Keep it going to the end and we could start "drag unicycling" and just leave the front wheel off altogether.

It'd be like a giant Segway.

The fact you mentioned "extended swing arm" and it was on the street, pretty much summed the guys mind set.
