At long last, ads. Now Jalopnik looks like a proper website and not like some covert operation, financed by weapon smuggling.

I still don't see any ads, because I block that stuff.

Haha, same here. Now if only I could block/remove the related stories, that would really clean up the page.

No ads yet, just placeholder images at the moment, but I suppose there will be ads at some point.

Actually, I saw one ad, but it was just because I had foolishly been allowing scripts from doubleclick.net

If you are using Chrome you can the Easy Create Filter on AdBlock Plus to wipe out the related and top stories. I don't think Firefox has the Easy Create Filter but you can manually add things to block. Here's a good list of things to block on Gawker sites:

kotaku.com##.sidebar-content
kotaku.com##.js_sidebar
kotaku.com##.container
kotaku.com##.position-relative

I love ads. Especially cola commercials!

I tried doing this in AdBlock on FF, but I couldn't turn off the related stories. Checking "related_module" disables the Top Stories.

However, I really don't know what I'm doing; I've never tried to make a custom filter before.

jalopnik.com##.package-inset took care of the related stories for me. now if i could find a way to make everything stretch to fill all the empty space.

Oh. I don't think that one was in your list. I was only interested in the Jalopnik filters, so I might have missed it.

Thanks for doing this.

Yup, that worked. Thanks. But as you said, the space remains.

I don't know much about Web design, but my goodness, this is new layout is terrible on many levels. I wonder who is signing off on this.
