My post the other day enlisted your help in convincing my dad to buy an FR-S/BRZ. I'm happy to report after telling him about the post and the feedback I got, he's seriously considering buying the car. He wants to go for a test drive this weekend. I think I'll have to test out the little back seats to make sure the salesman doesn't blow this for me. My dad has a notoriously low tolerance for obnoxious salesman. Thank y'all for your input, I have you guys to thank for sealing the deal on the test drive. I'll be sure to post how that goes.

If you're taller than 6 foot, those "little back seats" become "unbearable torture devices" in which your feet are crushed by the bottom of the front seat, your knees end up inside the seatback, and your head gets smacked against the rear window anytime you aren't hunched over... Don't ask how I know...

It's a great car to sit in the driver or passenger seats though! My grandpa has one, every time I drive it, there's that moment of "where's the rest of the power" once you get to the mid/high rev range, you're expecting boost or something, but all you get is noise... Still stupid fun to drive though!

"test out the back seats" eh? Sounds like you gotta bring a pretty girl along and she can go for a "test ride" if you know what I'm sayin!

I'm 5'9", so I should be okay for a test drive. The pictures I've seen look like the seats would be unbearable for any significant amount of time.

As long as the person in the front seat doesn't crush your feet you'll be okay. I'm 6'1" and my head hits the rear window. For anything longer than a five minute trip it would be unbearable.

As a 6 ft. tall, 230 lbs. man who once rode in the back seat of an FR-S completely lousy on cheap Mexican beer for 45 minutes looking for a Waffle House, I wish you the best of luck. You will likely need it. Getting in wasn't bad. Feet first was the method I chose. The ride was pretty awful. I sat with my back against the passenger side wall with my feet wedged behind the driver seat on the other side of the car. I was only able to do this because my friend who owns the car is 5'4" and 110 lbs. soaking wet. Had his seat been as far back as a normal person sits, I would have been out of luck. All of this though pales in comparison to the positively gymnastic event that is exiting the back shelf. The extrication involved my shoulders landing hard on the pavement because my feet were trapped in the non existent foot well. This of course made the sober driver and significantly less sober front passenger laugh their asses off. In true Top Gear style, absolutely no aid was rendered. Not one to be beaten by a Japanese trickery, I began to roll over to crawl the rest of the way out. Unfortunately, this process removed both of my shoes. After finally freeing myself, I looked through the floor to ceilings windows of the Waffle House to see every single customer and employee staring at me in amusement. Lesser men would have hung their heads in shame and sheepishly taken a table in the corner. Not I. With my fists proudly raised high like a hero returned from conquest, I entered that diner to sound of thunderous applause.
