I know that by the time I am able to get the money together the price of one will have doubled. I don't care though, I have loved the C4 Corvette since I was in swaddling clothes. I will get my 1996 LT4 Corvette in green, silver, purple, or black if it's the last thing I do?

What about you?

Easy, 1987-1989 Nissan Fairlady 200ZR-I (Z31 Kouki). The pictured car is a 200ZR-II (meaning it has T-tops unlike the I which is a slicktop), though.

I've always wanted a Datsun 240 or 280. Not really sure why, but they just sound fun and simple and I like the way they look. Beyond that, I know very little about them.

I really think that is the most attractive car that Merc has ever made. I actually don't know much about the performance or reliability of them, but man, what a great looking car.

Oh it won't be anytime soon that I get one, but when I eventually do, I'll consult me dad. He owns a 240, 280, and 300 before eventually getting his Corvette. He knows them pretty well. He almost bought a 280 a few years back, but the seller wouldn't come down quite far enough to seal the deal.

A Porsche 911 SC. Though it's not that special, it has always been something simple and appealing about it. It's also a bit more common than the older versions, and cheaper than a lot of the newer versions.

Chrome Orange S2 Exige, duh!

I'm probably slightly abnormal in that this car is also probably my most unrealistic dream car as well. I'd rather have a couple cheaper good cars than one single crazy expensive car. All my dream cars are realistic. It gives me hope - and not a stupid hope that I have to win the lottery or something.

Kinja'd!!! Sparf > Orange Exige
08/11/2013 at 12:08

Kinja'd!!!0

Correct, it was JDM-only. IMO T-tops are kinda ugly as well, and a hardtop is slightly more rigid.

What makes it special is that it had an RB20DET single turbo straight-6 instead of a VG series V6, meaning it was the last straight-6 Z.

The stock engine is rather unimpressive, but any RB series engine (including the GT-R's twin turbo RB26DETT) can be swapped in with relative ease (the pictured car has an RB25DET swap with a front-mounted intercooler).

The stock suspension has a few weaknesses as well, so most serious Z31 builds (again, like the one pictured) have S13/S14/S15 suspension swaps (in the rear that means the whole subframe is swapped) which apparently isn't as big a job as it sounds.

Good call.

A Seven is up there for me as well. I've still got more than a few years to go for it, but other than that it's just a question of whether it'd come before or after the Exige...

I think it'd be soooo cool to build a Locost but any "Seven" - kit, prebuilt, prebuilt kit - would surely suffice. I just love the spirit of the Seven.

Great dream car man. I'm always perplexed why people set their eyes on the truly unattainable. To me dream cars are like happiness is physical form, why not define it by something attainable. Something that you actually could buy and oggle at the night you finally put it in your garage.

Kinja'd!!!

I'm sure people are going to tire of seeing pics of my Lotus Esprit, but it is my dream car. I loved them since I was a kid. I was a college student the first time I saw one with my own eyes; A red one. My brain had a hard time fathoming how low the roof line was, but I know what I was looking at.

Kinja'd!!!

When I bought mine I stood int the garage just looking at it. 5 years on I still love driving it. I'm not sure I'll keep it forever, there are some other cars I'd like to own (Porsche 944 Turbo, Porsche 928, BMW635CSI. etc...), but it is amazing to actually have a car you have lusted over for decades. Everytime you sit it is and turn the key it is the sweet taste of success. People that set their dream cars too high never taste it.

Kinja'd!!!

Do I like those cars that cost more than my house? Sure. But when it all comes down to it I could spend a 4th as much and collect most of my dream cars.

I think it is a good thing the make targets you can hit. An LT4 corvette is a great car and a wonderful target. I think the C4 is beautiful a the the later LT4 cars are drivers meant to be enjoyed. When get it, enjoy it.

Yeah, it was a 1000 mile, 3-day car cruise. Great fun. The guy was going to bring a old French car but chickened out at the last minute and brought the Mazda. There were only 4 cars in the group, we didn't know each other very well, but became good friends. Hopefully more will join next year.

Already pretty set for fast cars. I need a big ass American cruiser. Caddy or Lincoln. Doesn't need to be concourse condition, just needs to be huge and topless. Unfortunately, the cost of building more garage space makes any car purchase unreasonable.
