But I feel like the frs wants to rev that little bit higher. Maybe 8k to 8300. I shall be looking at tunes, but first research about raising the redline!

Well if that's the case it does explain why the rev limiter feels like it cuts into the middle of the power band. Also, my dad would do no such thing! He is far too bland

I kinda agree with you there, the engine just does not feel as though it is trying that hard at the limiter, and it stays pretty smooth up there as well. In fact, quite a few of it's characteristics remind me of rotaries I've driven.

It doesn't help that when you hit the rev limiter, it kicks you in the face and completely stops all progress. I wonder how much a tune will run, I heard about 700 dollars. I also heard it is well worth it, due to the gains. Don't know about engine reliability though

Yeah, not sure enough is yet known about these engines in the long term. I'd really rather not be a beta tester for ecu tuning.
