...but !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has the potential to be truly horrifying. Could be worth it though.
If I did, I'd be torn between 'rally Lagonda' and 'V8 Vantage-engined 428bhp super Lagonda'.

I would not touch unless I had $45,000 to spend on a car. I think if you walk in expecting to spend a lot of money on a car, that would be awesome.

Precisely.
I suppose the engine is shared with a lot of other Astons, so parts should be available (if horrendously expensive).
Any bespoke parts would be hell to find though.

This one scares me.

Not only is it a TVR, but it's also lacking an engine and transmission.
Sure, you could probably swap in the same engine from an old Ford Ranger or Bronco II, but considering it being a TVR with no powertrain...I just find that scary, no matter what the price.

I still think that even when running I would not trust it to drive it on a regular basis. That is what sucks. Even when new, it wasn't that reliable, was it? So you could never really enjoy it, because you were waiting for the other shoe to drop.

It makes you wonder...what happened to the old engine and tranny? TVR things? I can only imagine...

Oh hell yes. I would do this with a V8 Vantage engine.

I wouldn't rely on it, but I would enjoy the hell out of it when it was running. A proper occasional use car.

The TVR wedges were probably the most solid TVRs in the company's history, and the 280i engines were just Ford Cologne V6s.
Actually, this is one of the few places where I think an LS swap would be appropriate. The bigger engined Tasmin 350i used Rover V8s, which is the British equivalent to the small-block chevy.
The thing that's shit-scary is all the 'salvaged, then rebuilt and retitled and then ripped apart again', and the gleeful attitude with which the seller states that it has no engine.

I'd make the rally Lagonda and then show up to Aston Martin Owners Club meetings.

Todays challenge, will be a true test of the Lagonda. I must drive the Lagonda from here on this side of the car park, to the other *camera pans to the other side*

That is terrifying. The electronics in that dashboard...ye gods. And putting in a slab of walnut with a bank of Smiths or Jaeger gauges would be kind of cool, but wildly out of place in the thing.

I got sleepy just with the time I spent looking at the picture of the car from one end to the other.
