Their ability to not give two shits about anything.
Long story short, I can't get into our neighborhood mailbox as the key isn't working anymore so a quick call to the post office to report a broken lock should clear it up, right? Fuck no.
Called today, got hung-up on after waiting 12 mins. Second call, "Hey I think we were disconnected.", only to get hung-up on again a few mins later. Third time, phone rings for about three minutes before I get their message.
Before all this, there were three earlier calls to report the malfunctioning lock only to be told that someone will be out there to fix it. Then, there's a $15 charge to fix, and then letting us know "sorry, you have to come in and fill out a form first."
So, before I walk into my local post office and complain to a public servant who will probably tell me to go fuck myself, I wanna hear your post office fun stories.
Go!

Well, a few days ago I had the lady at the post office be relatively condescending and confused when I purchased a solitary stamp. To make up for it, I paid for it with a ten dollar bill.

And we pay for this.

LOL. You've obviously never dealt with the RMV/DMV.
They actually put effort into not giving two shits about anything.

Pretty sure if I have to pay the stupid $15 fee, I'm paying it in nickels.

First off, they will not tell you to "go fuck yourself" They will imply it.
Secondly, I have NBU's (neighborhood box units) here and when my lock froze, they told me I would have to pay for the replacement.
I took a screwdriver and pried open the door to get my mail and called and said someone had broken into my mail box and they sent someone out the next day to replace the lock and fix the door.

Oh, hell yes. The solitary stamp only cost me 75 cents, which is why I pulled out a tenner.

One of my friends who lives in the area has a home business, he's always getting 'failed to deliver' slips in his post box despite working from home.
I finally caught the Postman when I was working in the yard and watched a him try to deliver a slip without even getting the package out of the van or ringing the doorbell.

I actually got my prybar and considered the same, but the last thing I want to do is accidentally open my neighbor's mailbox and start a neighborly feud.

Is it really that much more effort to deliver the package than to put a slip on the door?

He accidentally visited another Gawker site. He just can't calm down, it's been like an hour or so.

I can
sort of
justify it by thinking that maybe he's overworked, and he struggles to get his run done within time if he's waiting 5 minutes at every house for someone to answer the door.
but it's still his freaking job. Between me and my mate we put in a dozen official complaints (including resorting to the public facebook name and shame) and the problem seems to have gone away.

Don't worry, I've done the same thing and felt just as awkward.
