On a side note of how awesome this picture is, this shows nicely why I hate so so many new cars these days. Look how damn tiny that Viper looks next to the average sized sedan now! I get that new cars have a TON more safety features than old cars, which makes them larger sized, but I don't have to like it! haha. Cars just look so much sexier when they are smaller. Even the sedans/wagons/suvs of old were smaller and yet still had the same interior room. Damn safety regulations, damn large bloated cars of today...

I wouldn't consider a Tesla to be an "average sized car" - I'd put it as a large luxury sedan, akin to an a8 or 7-series. Wheelbase is 196", while an Escalade is 202" - that's not average.

Random question. Can you just unplug the cord from other cars that are charging? If so that would be suuuuch a bad way to screw someone over who needed to be somewhere.

you could lick the charging cable's contacts and nothing would happen. it won't send any power unless it is in communication with the car through a wired connection in the cable.

Yeah, I realize it's an apples to oranges comparison between these two in particular. It just helps illustrate my overall point nicely. Whenever I see the viper alone in a picture or on the street around older cars, it doesn't seem like a particularly small car. Certainly not large, but not a miata. In the picture here, it looks like an elise parked next to an SUV.

I mean...not really. A better point would be to compare an old Accord to a new Accord. Not an old Viper to a brand new car that has never existed before and is designed to be a large sedan and hold 7 passengers. Oh well.
