Since I'm a huge metalhead from Norway, I tend to listen to a heap of music noone else has ever heard about.. so I present to you.. Shining. It's a Jazz fusion avant-garde technical metal band.

To that first song. No thank you. The second is a little better. Still not my thing by a mile.

Hmm. About the closest thing I can think of would be the Italian band Fleshgod Apocalypse, which combines Death/Black metal with elements of classical music. I really enjoy it.
You may also want to check out Cynic. Look up the song Veil Of Maya.

NICE! I did not know this was a thing. I definitely hear some heavy industrial influence in there as well (at least in the case of the first song)

How about acapella hero metal?
or classical-infused power metal (guitar by Van Canto solo 'guitar' vocalist)?
or sea shanty metal?
Hell - the whole Napalm Records catalog....

In my younger (aka, high school) days when I was still a super avid bassist (fell out of it a bit in college Because Racecar) I dabbled in it a bit. I really enjoy it for the musical techniques and odd time signatures that it uses (where else would you find three bars of 17/8 time in between a 3/4 and 7/8 bar?). I can't listen to it all the time, but on occasion it is fun to listen to. I just tend to think about it too much when its on to pay attention to what else I'm supposed to be doing.
I also had a friend in college who always listened to obscure Eastern European metal/dark-electro. Again, can listen to it, but only for so long.
PS. Really enjoyed both songs here. First one was really catchy.

Not bad at all :) the deep growling kinda reminds me of Michael Poulsen from Dominus (now in Volbeat)
