I wish people would share the whole story here. While I agree that this issue was made worse by Child Protective Services, the way people are omitting information is really dishonest.

First, the grand father they had been leaving the kid with was a registered sex offender. This was the first strike. The second was that the mother suffered debilitating seizures and wasn't a qualified care giver. Thus, it all came down to the father who admitted to using illegal drugs while the kid was in the house. Strike three.

Personally, I still don't think the child should have been taken away.... but people need to stop being so deliberately dishonest about the situation and pretending the key issue was a little pot smoking.

Okay. So they took a child out of a bad situation and put her into a fatal situation. And, according to the report, the feds were warned about possible misconduct, which they chose to ignore. Not seeing how exactly that is better..
