Decided I'd try and get the fibreglass bonnet into the right shape. As with most fibreglass panels, it had relaxed out of shape during the curing process.
You can see the unaltered side here, and the hand-sized panel gap. It's been repaired here before, but I forgot to factor in the relaxing when I was doing it so it's miles out of shape.
So, I cut some slits in the other side so it would bend relatively freely, measured how far it needed to move in and made up a makeshift jig to hold it in position while the resin set. By makeshift, I mean really makeshift. Literally just a block of wood to wedge in-between some cupboards and the bonnet.
And here's the finished product. Not bad, as fibreglass fitments go, and the gap at the bottom will reduce once it's clamped down in place. I'll have a go at the other side next I think.

Took me a second. Was looking at the line above the fender arch. I was like I dunno man it looks pretty good. *looked down*...Oh! there it is. Keep it up.
