I heard my neighbor's iPhone Amber Alert alarm right after mine. Looks like it's alerting everyone in California with a smartphone.
They're so close to the border. I'm afraid that they may be long gone, traveling through Mexico by now.
Keep a lookout.

Well, it's effective in that it's getting the word out but it seems like the cops are getting hammered by people calling in every blue car they spot.

The smartphone Amber alerts first started happening about a month ago here in Georgia. Absolutely no one knew our phones would do that and 3 a.m. (and 3:12...and 3:17) is not the most fun time to find out, considering how loud it is . It had the added effect of everyone turning the Amber Alert notifications off.
