I'm bored, so I'm doing what I do almost every weekend day anyways: hanging out at the shop. The Mazda's oil pan modifications went swimmingly yesterday (I'll post some pics up later when I take better ones, but the pan clears now!), and for now, I don't really have anything to do.
I have access to welders, scrap metals, mills, lathes, and a whole lot of tools. What should I make? I'm thinking of trying my hand at some Brown Dog Welding-esque little sculptures, but my level of creativity, patience, and pure welding ability doesn't hold a flame to that mans. But then again, practice makes perfect.
So shoot me some suggestions of stuff you'd want to see made!

If you have some metal bits lying around, why not just practice welding on those (go nuts, basically)? Like they say, practice makes perfect.

That's what I was thinking, but it's always nice to have a sculpture or something to be building towards, hence the want for suggestions.
I was thinking something like weld together a little pick up bed or something like that.

I agree with Sparf.

Just fool around a bit like you would with Legos and you will probably end up building something in the end. I can't really think of anything myself at the moment.

Two (or six) bent or welded 1/4-inch thick by 2-inch wide steel garden brackets. Arranged in a way to hang from the top of a concrete block wall and be able to support maybe 96,000 pounds without sliding off the wall or tumbling into the damn bushes. Yeah, I'll take a set of those! And if they had your personal burnt weld marks that would be even more gooder.
