Why couldn't I have been rich and lucky and had a dad that forced me into motorsports and basically any F1 drivers life? That said....Basil Hayden is on the relaxation playlist. My favorite whiskey under the $200ish mark. What is oppos take?

Laphroaig would have to be my take for the under 75 mark. I don't usually stray above that enough to care.

My favorite bottle of whiskey under $200 is 10 bottles of Buffalo Trace.

Pretty much blows my booze budget for the next 5 months? Probably not what you wanted to hear.

I was about to say under $75, but then I tried to think of a $75 I liked more. Couldn't think of one. I love a Macallan 18 though.

Basil is about $30ish, but tastes $150ish. I have only bought a $200 bottle once, and it was for a very special occasion. I don't make a habit of buying $200 bottles of whiskey.

Haha, I still prefer Basil. I still think it is a lot higher quality than Buffalo.

This is probably my favorite whiskey right now. Super smooth, ~$30-35 where I live

Not a bad choice. More of an Islay malt person myself, hence the Laphroaig. When I'm in a Highland mood though it's up there on the list.

Eagle Rare 10 year IMO blows Basil's out of the water! Also Woodford Double Oaked is delicious. Blanton's isn't bad, but at $50 is pricey, although maybe the best at any price. I've never had Pappy Van, but it comes from the same distiller (so does Eagle Rare - TRY IT!)

I love Woodford but never have had the double Oaked. If you get the chance to do their distillery tour it is AWESOME. What does a bottle of eagle rare 10 cost? And never had Banton, but $50 and ok is too much for me. I like my whiskey neat and in the $30 range.

You would have weird whiskey there. I kid I kid

I love Austin, it is a fun time, if you are willing to be a little weird at least.

Basil Hayden's might be the best way to ease someone into bourbon. As bourbons go it's gentle without lacking for drinking pleasure.

My favorite remains Lagavulin, but the bottle I find myself reaching for most often these days is Casa Noble Anejo.

(Ri) is my favorite. Sometimes called "Rye One" it is a newer whiskey but it was the first expensive bottle of liquor I ever bought after getting a bonus at my internship in college. Delightfully spiced with a good balance of smoothness. At 40$+ per bottle it isn't exactly dirt but it is a great bottle for sharing with friends who might not know if they like the taste or not.

Lagavulin 16 if I'm drinking straight. For mixing whiskey, good old Jack Daniels is plenty good for me.

Eagle Rare costs about $28-32 range, so right there with regular Woodford, maybe a little less. Blanton's I've been told by others is the best whiskey people can buy at any price, although I don't know if I agree with them. It's very good though!
