Ford's first factory Ranchero's was released in 1957, but someone took a '55 Ford Station Wagon and what appears to have been a '55 Crown Victoria and moved the roofline forward to create a '55 Ranchero.

The end product gives lots of load space under the rear deck (notice added hinge towards front) and the car is drivable as is as a 1-of-a-kind-but-is-it-something-you-want?! Find this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for sale in Phoenix, AZ for $12,495 or best offer on ebay.

The seller states that this car took 25 years to complete - which isn't always a good thing, but it certainly indicates a willingness to spend time/money/welding rods on the project. The car is a cornucopia of classic parts and includes; a 56 Thunderbird front bumper, 61 Dodge tail lights, 55 Ford Station Wagon frame and the top from a 1955 Crown Victoria.

Under the hood is a Ford 302 cubic inch V8 with all kinds of dress up chrome but an undisclosed internal build configuration, so expect anything from 150 to 300 horsepower depending on parts selected. Without a proper cam and compression ratio even the biggest exhaust pipes won't free up much power from a smog-era 302.

If I know my steering wheels, that steering wheel is from a '66 Toronado or Olds 98. Interesting but low rent fab work on the dash, and a spattering of stuff from a JC Whitney catalog or the "pimp my ride" section of the local Pep Boys. The only redeeming bits are a set of really nice seats and nice looking console.

Strange that so much work went into getting the exterior exactly right (well almost: grill and hubcaps a bit "huh?") and then the interior went completely DURRR. Would be a bargain at half that to maybe 2/3 that, but asking price.... yeah, no. Nicely ridiculous as a drive-around-towner though.
