So apparently !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! brewery makes an " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! " line based on reverse-engineered recipes !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I'll be in VT tomorrow, and hope to find some in the local shops. Has anyone tried these before?

Yes, Midas Touch is delicious.

I've had Ta Henket. It was interesting. Not sure if I would drink it again but it was worth trying.

Had Ta Henket (not my favorite), Theobroma (Great!) and Sahtea (okay, I guess).

My takeaway is that they all sort of tasted similar, and Theobroma is the only one I ever really wanted again. Then again, they generally had sweeter, ale-ey tastes, and I'm more of a sour/gueze/belgian kind of guy, so my opinion is heavily biased.

Give em a try!

The Midas Touch is pretty good but they do a beer that's aged in a wooden tank of some special wood...makes a really nice flavor.

I think I've had most all of them because they distribute a lot of stuff to NC. Seems like you are talking about Palo Santo Marron? Not an ancient ale, but probably my favorite beer that they make.

My favorite ancient ale is Chateau Jiahu which is fermented with sake yeast and has a definitive sake character: Mad nice.

From whence do you hail that you can't get DFH? I've only had Midas Touch, but I have to assume the others are also top notch.

They're all worth trying, but ta henket is pretty gross if I'm honest. I had them all just to say I did. Would drink any of them again except that one!

Midas Touch is so friggin' good, I could drink just that all day.

I've also had the Chateau Jiahu and that was excellent as was Theobroma.

Chateau Jiahu, whose ingredient list was unearthed from a 9,000-year-old tomb in China. Made with hawthorn fruit, sake rice, barley and honey, Chateau Jiahu is based on the oldest known fermented beverage in history. (That's right: Beer is older than wine!) - See more at: http://www.dogfish.com/ancientales#st…
