Both are so awesome though!
I watched Back to the Future again a few days ago.
So I picked John Z's creation.

BTTF Delorean. Initial D doesn't count as 80s.

DMC is a movie car not a TV car. Pick that nit! I'd go for the DMC.

One of them can still be purchased in stock condition.

While I do like the AE86 and, heretic that I am, I actually prefer the Levin over the Trueno, I'm going to have to go with the DeLorean for this particular matchup.
Why?
Because I have this obsession about fitting a Subaru H6 in the back with a twin-scroll turbo setup mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Also tossing in some wide-ass tires on wider, replica wheels, to keep that stock look.

Goddamnit, I knew someone was going to steal my idea! Except change Subaru to Porsche and twin-scroll to twin-stage twin turbos.

Sorry, I want my DeLorean to be reliable enough to actually make it back to the future, hence the Subaru engine.
Also, how about a dual-charged setup using a Eaton M92 Supercharger and a Garrett GT60 turbocharger?

So it is just an 86 and a Delorean or is it Takumi's 86 and the Time Machine?

whydoesitmattericoulntcareless?!? I guess it's just an 86 and delorean. A different looking 86 was in an 90s animated tv show and a different looking delorean was in an 80s movie. The only factors linking these two cars is that they're slow, 80's boxes that many people have seen on their television. How's that?

Hmmm, so a regular 86 and Delorean. As a DD I'd go 86, as a toy I'd go Delorean.
