I will! Not a good day for the airport, though. Cloudy and cold. Maybe later in the week, though! I've been shooting with my brother's older Sigma 70-200, without image stabilizer, and I'm looking forward to comparing this new Tamron to it.

AUS has a dedicated observation spot. It's good, but not great. It's on the north end of the 17L/35R. It's the shorter of the two runways, so it sees mostly GA traffic and lots of 737s. The biggest thing that flies from there is Delta's daily 757 flight. In March, BA will start a daily 787 nonstop from AUS to LHR. I plan to be there on the first day, likely with many other spotters. I have been to Founder's Plaza at DFW, but I want to find some other spots to shoot from.

I wanted an 85mm f/1.8 usm but Santa didn't know what that was. The canon 70-200 is a bit.... Ehh I'll be able to articulate it once I save up for a couple weeks and snag up a 200mm f/2.8L. Hows the tele-zoom working out for you?

Very well, though I haven't had a whole lot of time to play around with it. Here's a house finch and a chickadee I took through my back window today. Aviation photography is my bag, and I hope to get to the airport tomorrow or Friday, if the weather cooperates.
