In a comment I made on an earlier post, I got quite a bit of flack for saying I'm 18 and had an S4. Well, I'd like to let you know I paid for it monthly like I was leasing it from my dad. I'm sorry I took my opportunity to drive the coolest car I could, and I'm terribly sorry it made a number of you spitefully jealous. Such is life I guess.

Don't apologize. NEVER apologize for being in the situation that you're in. You're 18 and drive an ATS after trading in an S4. If someone doesn't like it (or speaks ill of you because of it) they can suck it.
Also, you don't have to give any other info about your situation (ie you make payments). It's no one else's business.

As long as you enjoy it and don't take it for granted like some kids do, there is nothing wrong with that. I had to many friends who's parents got them brand new nice cars and they treat them like shit. A Few have totaled them, some just don't take care of them. It's really pretty sad that parents just buy their children nice things without teaching them the responsibility of having their own car.

Sarcasm, anger, irony and such is rather hard to convey in writing, especially when you're writing in a language other than your native one. Hence all the smileys. I know I may come forth as a teenager with all my smileys, but without them I tend to be seen as a grumpy old fellow ;)

1) You did get flack, but it was from like one or two guys. There are consequences to being who you are, some of which are negative. You could be homeless reading oppo on a PC at the library and that would still be true. Your measurement of maturity is directly tied to your ability to absorb and deflect criticism from others.
2) You're not making anyone around here 'spitefully Jealous'. There's a member on here who's job is to curate and tool around supercars all day. There's a member on here who brought a CTS-V for shits and giggles after buying a Lotus for shits and giggles. There's a member on here who gets to photograph supercars and interact with their owners for a freaking living. You might have made that one guy or two upset, but those morons don't really reflect the board membership.
3) Don't be a dick. And don't let other people who want to be dicks define your behavior. You can't get back at them for what they did, and replicating their behavior makes you look bad, not them. Rise above the petty insecurities of others, and be not consumed by their critical conceits.

I would have liked to be 15 and own a veyron, though. it was just an s4, but a bunch of people liked the negative comments like the one were he sarcastically remarked why don't I just ask him for a cts-v. It made me defensive

It was a very nice car indeed, although there were about 20 other exact models in my high school parking lot, along with several S4's, S5's, E-Classes, and the occasional M3.

sounds like you went to a sweet school! I did too, but we had a few really nice trucks, an evo 8 and an evo 10 owned by two brothers, and occasionally a m3. I was the loudest and the only s model Audi in obnoxious blue paint

I can vouch for this. I have read Oppo at the library while homeless before and got flak for some of my posts. Oh well, shit happens, people get butthurt, move on.

As a spectator, it is a little disappointing. For what ever you paid for an S4, you could have picked a number of other nice cars and had a lot of spare change to upgrade it. Then I would have seen posts from you on all the modifications and watched it evolve.

I wasn't allowed to do anything but an exhaust and an ecu. it had to be AWD and automatic. I lived in Michigan and my
mom had to be able to drive it. it was a good choice for me

Well sounds like it is practical and you enjoy it, so that's good. For your next car, surprise us and reach a little deeper into the dark side of car mods. We'll all enjoy that here, and of course you will have a blast with it.
