craaap, that looks like a giant pain in the ass :( It's like narrowing the lanes even more. Looks like the snow version of mud (if there isn't a word for it already) Seems like a relatively flat town but dayum. I'm guessing also that this just amplified the bad driving as well?

There is a word for the snow version of mud. Originating out of South Dakota, it's "snert", snow and dirt ('e' added for pronunciation). Made by the wind that comes with the storms, blows the snow away from the soil, and the soil takes flight.
One step into it, and your shoe/boot is covered in a sticky, cold, uhm, substance.
I personally fixed that, and now only have to remove sand from my car's carpets. Different problems.
