Big addition to the collection today. A few new acquisitions from the local agriculture and hardware store, an unlikely source... and some vintage hot wheels and others from an antique shop.

Kinja'd!!!

The ones on the cards were the new ones, everything in this shot in the foreground was from an antique store... <12$ for the lot. The two Don 'the Snake' Prudhomme funny cars are probably *each* worth more than that, even in their worn condition.

The Rod Roller matchbox is steerable, and in decent shape. Old No. 5, the antique fire engine is in great shape, as well, after some cleanup with mild soapy water, and a toothbrush.

And the bulldozer/front end loader is a real, vintage small Tonka.

Some of the others are in pretty marginal shape, but maybe salvageable, and maybe even candidates for resto-modding. The 57 T-bird is badly re-painted, likely by a child... I am tempted to drill the rivets, and strip the body and re-paint it and add new wheels. It isn't original, and never will be able to be, so it might as well be modded.

I also took some quick and rough cell-phone pictures of the rest of my hot wheels collection, as well.

These are the more recents and favorites that are not yet in display cases, including the new ones from today, now uncarded. I don't buy hot wheels for the purpose of re-selling, so I prefer to have them open. I have been buying a fair number of Mopars recently.

Sorry for the crap picture quality... my TV room is dark so it is hard to take any decent photos with a cell phone. This case is mostly Porsches and Japanese cars.

Kinja'd!!!

Next case down: DeLoreans (real DMC12 built in Ireland) and british cars. TVR, Morgan, McLaren, and lots of Aston Martins, and some Lotuses. Aircraft perched on top.

Kinja'd!!!

Again, sorry for the crappy quality. Motorcycles on top, italian cars inside, except the top row of Audi R8s, Lots of Ferraris, race cars, street cars, and a couple of Lambos, and others at the bottom.

Kinja'd!!!

The other wall has another case, with american cars, ford Mustang concepts and early fastbacks are a bit washed out by the flash on the top shelf. The new vintage acquisitions on the top.

This is both sides of my "cold storage" plastic case; So many cars that they are stacked double, if possible. Not ideal, but I can't seem to find another plastic storage case like this one, or any more of the wood wall cases (golf ball cases, actually) like the ones I have, and I really don't have enough space to have them out and displayed on surfaces.

I had those funny cars when I was a kid.... Also that green Matchbox Javelin! I found it while digging in my backyard, so it was always messed up but one of my favorites because it looked SO TOUGH.

Holy balls, Snake and Mongoose are worth well over $12 on their own! I am unbelievably jealous right now!

Nice collection! By the way are those aircraft on stands by Maisto?

Yes, they are.

An RAH-66 Commance, a Russian KA-52 Black Shark contra-rotating coaxial twin rotor, an SR-71, A Eurofighter Typhoon, and a P38 Lightning.

The ones not on stands are hong-kong-made antique biplane that I just picked up, a Matchbox Radar Jet (like the twin engine booms and folding wings), and a pair of Tron Legacy Light jets.

This one looks like it was in the back yard, too. Unfortunately there is a big round hole in the rear plastic window of that one... otherwise it is worn, but intact.

The purple Maserati Bora is actually in a bit better shape, but it is amazing how 'loose' the design of the molds for those cars are, compared to the actual cars.
