Has anybody ever been to Driveway Austin or taken their classes? I'm thinking about doing their road racing class.

What is an "open practice session"

I think it is just driving on the track without an instructor.

Have you been down there? Maybe I'll try it out and report back :)

I've met some of the guys that teach there and they know what they're doing. I think their website is a LITTLE ambitious ("F1 caliber track") but they run a good program at a good facility.

something else I've been wanting to do is the k1 speed leagues. I'm making an assumption that they're less tolerant of stupid driving so you can actually race instead of dodging 14 yr olds and 60 yr olds constantly spinning out

Do you mean this?

yup. it is awesome, you can hit 30mph+ on the straight. I used to go to the indoor gas powered ones (in Houston) and blew off the electric places when they started opening. I finally went last year though and I am a believer. The torque is amazing
