Colleging is hard -_- I didn't do as well as I wanted to in all my classes. Luckily, I have my Business Management, Lab, and Intro to PE classes holding my GPA from dropping past the three mark, but I got Bs in Chem and Calc, and a C in Physics, and I think that's a sign that I should change majors, even though I really want to continue in this major.

Oh and my flight back home is tomorrow and there's an ice storm warning for Eastern Oklahoma because fuck my life.

First year classes are often used as a screen to get people to switch majors. Combine that with professors who are forced against their desires to teach classes with such large numbers of students that they can't interact with them, a ton of people won't perform as they could in a different environment. I was at a 2.7 or so GPA at the end of my first year and finished with a 3.7 or so. It was interesting how much easier and beneficial the more 'advanced' classes were.

Pro tip: Take one easy class each semester that you are positive you can get an A with minimal effort. (For me that's usually a foreign language class)

What are you studying where you need management, calc, chem, and physics all together?

Initially, I planned to double major in Energy Management and Petroleum Engineering, because apparently they're both high-salary majors, and if I do them both, I thought that would mean doubly-the-high-salary. I had to apply to do Energy Management and I didn't know I had to apply until the deadline passed, so they just let me take the required for all Business majors course to see if I like it.

I really liked it. T-T But I don't want to spend my entire life calculating stuff on balance sheets, so I decided to pursue only Petroleum Engineering for the rest of my college life.

Next year is going to be hell for me. Physics II, Differential Equations, Chem II, Engineering Statics and Geology. No fun classes because my parents want me to leave that for my final year.

I usually need one last class to qualify for financial aid plus it helps keep me on deans list and keeps me from burning out.

(Wow. Obviously I'm not an English major)
