That's right, a Hertz Penske Mustang GT. For those of you who may not know about it, its a custom car exclusive to Hertz rental fleets that is kind of a mixture of a Mustang GT, aero bits from a GT500 and a Boss 302, Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, and some other special little Ford Racing touches. They only made 150 0f these, with 140 automatic transmission cars going to the rental lots and 10 manual transmission cars for execs and other special people, I guess because us common-folk aren't worthy of a clutch pedal, hahaha. I saw it and decided that I might as well snap a couple pics of it, even though she was pretty dirty. I think the plan is to only keep them in service for a limited time, so I'm interested to see what kind of mileage gets put on these, or if the presumably high rental cost keeps people from getting them.

Dan Mosqueda saw 2 in Albuquerque. I called up to rent one for a day. I was informed they were only passing through on their way to Texas. :(

Good sighting, I always wish that will be waiting for me on the other end of an airport terminal. Not so far. Guess it would help if I rented from Hertz though...

I saw one of these last week as I was dropping my rental off in Austin. They also had a GTR for rent there too. I took a photo, but I already deleted it. Looked very cool.

Yeah, this one actually had NM plates on it, and it was in Texas.

Yeah, apparently Hertz has a high-end dream car group that people can rent from, and they have stuff like Ferrari F430's, Porsche 911's, and I guess GTR's. Interesting that the demand for high-end rental cars is enough for them to buy them and rent them out to people, I would've thought that most people didn't care much for what kind of car they get on their vacation or business trip. But hey, I guess if your company is paying for you to go to a few meetings, you might as well arrive in style, lol

Dude, if I get stuck taking a vacation somewhere...shall we say..."shitty", I'd rather do it in a fun car (so at least getting from the B&B to the diner, to the bar, and back to the B&B is fun). That vacation to Bend, Oregon doesn't seem so bad behind the wheel of a GTR...
