My favorite Jags... especially the facelifted ones.

I had a bunch of car mods in GTA: Vice City. My favorite (and DD) in-game was a 1994 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign. Carnival Red with Ivory interior. I don't have the game anymore, and miss driving it.

Mmmm XJ40. I love the wine red coloured ones especially.
I've been weighing up what to do with mine recently. The gearbox swap is coming along, but there's lots of little rust pockets popping up. The legacy of being kept in a field for 3-5 years before I picked it up.
The options are fix it up to beater spec and drive it 'till it dies, or fix it up to a bit better spec, drive it around until I clear my other projects and then strip it down for a proper rust detox and respray.
I'm leaning towards the latter, mainly because it'll give me the excuse to built it to M5-rivalling spec. If you work on breathing mods alone you can get the 3.6l from 221bhp to 280bhp. Probably 290bhp for the 4.0l, although I've heard that the heads don't flow as well on those engines.
With a little more tuning I reckon you could crack 300bhp, which would put it quite nicely around E34 M5 I6 power (and weight as well).
If I want to go toe-to-toe with the E39 M5 I'd pluck the supercharged I6 from an X300 XJR6. That's 321bhp before I even get started.
Ah, for the want of more money.
